GS1 labels are industry-standard identifiers that track goods throughout the supply chain. They help recipients quickly identify orders and the contents of Hive shipments without unpacking them.
We generate GS1 labels to be printed and attached to each logistic unit included in B2B orders.
A logistic unit can be a box, pallet, or container. Multiple logistic units per shipment can be used.
Ship in own packaging (SIOP) SKUs can be confirmed directly as logistic units and do not require a separate outer packaging.
For pallets and containers, we print two identical labels to attach to opposite sides.
The GS1 label presents information in two formats:
- human-readable text
- barcode
All labels include:
- logistic unit type and number (e.g., BOX 5, PALLET 2)
- logistic unit ID
- shop order ID
- in the barcode prefaced by (400)
- dimensions (mm)
- net weight (kg)
- count (the number of pieces included in this logistic unit
- in the barcode prefaced by (37)
Additional elements:
- content: EAN (European Article Number)
- We add the EAN visible on the Hive App. If this SKU does not have a valid EAN, we do not print this on the label.
- in the barcode prefaced by (02)
- batch/lot: the batch’s tracking ID
- in the barcode prefaced by (10)
- expiry (DD.MM.YYYY)
- in the barcode prefaced by (17) and with the format YYMMDD
- in the barcode prefaced by (17) and with the format YYMMDD
Where on the Hive App can I check the GS1 labels created?
GS1 labels are visible in the Documents section of every B2B order. They are uploaded only after the B2B order is packed. The document type is labeled as "GS1 Label." The document name indicates whether the label refers to a pallet or a box (e.g., Box_1.pdf).
Are the GS1 labels attached to every B2B order?
Yes. GS1 labels are industry-standard identifiers that track goods throughout the supply chain. They help recipients quickly identify orders and view the contents of Hive shipments without needing to unpack them.
If you need to upload more labels, please select “I will provide the following labels” and choose Parcel/Pallets.
