The standard picking process for B2B orders follows these steps:
- When the units of the SKU in your B2B order match the units in its master carton (the box provided by your supplier in the Restocking Shipment), we will take the full master carton box.
- If there are more units of an SKU than the units in the master cartons, we will take the exact number from the master carton and pick the remaining units one by one.
- If there are fewer units of an SKU than the units in the master cartons, we will pick the units individually.
This applies if we still have master cartons available for the SKUs; if we don’t, we will pick the units individually.
Examples:
-
-
- Product units in the order = Product units in the master carton
- Product unit in the order → 20; Product unit in the master carton → 20
- We take the full master carton
- Product units in the order > Product units in the master carton
- Product unit in the order → 25; Product units in the master carton → 20
- We take the full master carton + 5 units individually in a separate box
- Product units in the order < Product unit in the master carton
- Product units in the order → 15; Product unit in the master carton → 20
- We take the 15 units individually
- Product units in the order = Product units in the master carton
-
If you do not want any master cartons to be picked, please check the box "Repack (do not use master cartons)" in the order instructions section:
We do not open and count the units in a sealed and labeled master carton box. Instead, we rely on the quantity indicated on the label outside the master cartons provided by your supplier as a reference.
What happens if there are inventory discrepancies during order picking?
If any inventory discrepancies are found in the SKUs while picking your order, we will contact you via the Hive Hub to determine how to proceed with the order. Discrepancies may occur from one of these two scenarios:
-
- Restocking Variances: The quantity received during restocking may be less than what was initially reported. This can happen since our team doesn’t count restocking shipments unit by unit. We count the top layers of boxes in the pallets and multiply by the number of boxes in a pallet. In the case of boxes without a pallet, we check one box and multiply this by the number of boxes received.
- Internal Inventory Movements: During our internal inventory moves from location to location, there was an extra transaction made. For example, if we moved 40 units from one location to another we need to subtract 40 units from the origin location and add 40 units to the destiny location. Sometimes, the subtracting is skipped due to a human error, so this will look like 40 extra units are in the Hive App, but the actual physical inventory would not have changed at any point. We are improving our processes to avoid these mistakes in the inventory display.
Please be assured that no physical stock has been lost or damaged in our facilities, If such an issue were to arise, we would report it immediately.
