What is the standard packing procedure for B2B orders?
We follow specific packing rules for B2B orders. The packing process varies depending on whether the shipment is palletized or non-palletized.
How do you pack non-palletized shipments?
-
When the shipment units = master carton units:
- Master cartons are packed directly into bigger Hive Standard Material boxes secured by packing paper.
- When the shipment units ≠ master carton units:
- SKUs are removed from the master cartons and packed into appropriate-sized Hive Standard Material boxes, which are packed into bigger Hive Standard Material boxes secured by packing paper.
How do you pack palletized shipments?
Master cartons or Hive Standard Material boxes are placed directly on euro pallets without gaps. If the number of master cartons allows, each layer on the pallet contains the same SKU, and the pallet is tightly wrapped with stretch folio.
With this method, we ensure that your B2B orders are securely packed in Hive’s boxes, which are designed to handle heavy weights.
We aim to pack boxes with a single SKU type, meaning each box contains only one product variety. Whether this is possible depends on if the quantity of a particular SKU is enough to fill at least the smallest Hive Standard box or not. If the quantities of SKUs are insufficient to fill the smallest Hive Standard box, we will pack mixed SKU boxes.
If you want Hive to use ship the order in master cartons you can add the following to the order notes: "Please ship the order in master cartons”.
If you do not want the SKUs to be mixed in one box and want to request exclusively single-SKU packing, please check the box Parcel and/or pallet under the "Pack in single SKU" option in the order instruction section in the Hive App for the B2B order.
