Please align with your account manager before offering cash on delivery (COD) as a payment method in your shop, as Hive could take up to two weeks to set it up internally. This only applies to orders shipped from Italy to Italy and Spain to Spain.
Cash on delivery (COD) orders need to be activated as a payment method on your shop platform as this is how customers place orders. To set this up, follow the guide below.
Payment method configuration
To set the option to let your customers pay for the orders when they are delivered (Cash On Delivery), please add or edit the name of the payment method in your shop, adding the word “COD”.
For example, the payment method could be named as follows:
- (Pagamento in contrassegno COD) Payment on Delivery COD
- (Pagamento alla consegna COD )Delivery payment COD
- (Pagamento) Payment COD
- COD
Activate COD payback
To receive COD order payments, please remember to add the following information in the delivery carrier selection tab of your Hive Set-up Sheet:
- Email address to which you would like to receive COD payment reports

Address registered on the bank account
- Account holder Name
- IBAN
- BIC
- Certificate of ownership of the Bank account
- Requirement specific to Spain if you selected COD payment with CTT express
Activating COD payment on Hive orders
If you manually create or duplicate orders, we cannot apply COD as a payment method; therefore, we cannot apply a cash-on-delivery carrier. The only way to send orders with a cash-on-delivery carrier is to create the order on your shop platform.
Please note that the payment status on the Hive App is not linked to the carrier; therefore, this will not update. This also means that the payment status will not be updated in your shop platform.
