The Harmonized System(HS) codes are used in international trade, enabling customs authorities to identify the shipped products and apply the respective duties based on their categorization.
Globally, only the first six digits of an HS code are standardized. Additional digits may be added by individual countries for national classification and further product description.
Your supplier or manufacturer should be able to provide the HS codes and ideally include them on the invoice or packing list. However, it’s important to note that Chinese customs tariff codes may differ from EU customs tariff codes, so verification may be necessary.
You can use the European Customs Portal to assist in finding the correct code.
Always ensure that an 8-digit HS code is provided.
