A Power of Attorney is a written authorization that grants our forwarder the permission to represent or act on your behalf for shipments that involve customs clearances. It essentially allows our forwarder to process the customs declaration for you when your goods leave or enter the European Union. This document is issued on behalf of our forwarders which our brands must complete, sign, and return to us to proceed with the further processing of your overseas shipment.
There are two types of Power of Attorney:
- Temporary Power of Attorney: One with a limited timeframe, usually shipment per shipment based.
- General Power of Attorney: One that stands for a longer period and can be used for all shipments.
We record general Power of Attorney documents in our database and use them for future Hive freight shipments.
