You can choose to handle bundles either in your shop platform (e.g., Shopify) or directly in Hive. Please follow only one approach to avoid duplication or stock discrepancies.
With both options, the key is to decide where you want bundle logic to be handled (Shopify vs. Hive) and keep that setup consistent.
Option A — Handle the bundle in your shop platform
Use this option if your bundling app (e.g., Shopify Bundles or another third-party app) expands orders into component products/variants, and Hive receives orders already containing component products.
Steps:
-
Create the bundle in your shop platform
-
Set it up using your chosen app (e.g., Shopify Bundles or a third-party app).
-
Make sure orders always include the underlying component products/variants.
-
-
Map products in Hive
-
Map all component products/variants in the Hive App.
-
Map the “shell” bundle product in Hive and set it to "Not fulfilled by Hive", so only its components are processed.
-
Result:
Hive will receive and fulfill only the component products. If the bundle “shell” remains on the order, Hive will automatically ignore it.
Refer to our Mapping Guide for details.
Option B — Handle the bundle in Hive
Use this option if the product in your shop is listed as a single product, but you want Hive to treat it as a bundle. Hive will then automatically break it down into its predefined components during order processing.
Steps:
-
Create a standard product in your shop
-
Let it sync into Hive.
- Ensure required product details are provided..
-
In Hive, map it and set it as "Fulfilled by Hive".
-
-
Convert to a Hive Bundle
-
In Hive, find the product in the "Inventory" page.
-
Click the three dots → "Convert to Bundle".
-
Add the component SKUs and set quantities.
-
Save your configuration.
-
-
Stock management
-
Bundle stock automatically equals the lowest available stock among its components.
-
Refer to our Mapping Guide for details.
Best practices:
-
Do not configure the same bundle in both your shop inventory and Hive.
-
Changes to bundle setup are not retroactive. To adjust an already-imported order, edit the order items directly in your shop platform.
-
If switching between approaches, align timing and test with a draft order to prevent duplicates or missing items.
- Converting existing Hive products with stock into Hive Bundles is not allowed.
