Can Hive fulfill my marketplace orders?
Yes — in most cases. Hive doesn't connect to marketplaces directly. Instead, your marketplace orders reach us through your connected shop system (e.g. Shopify), a connector app, or the Hive API. Once your orders arrive with the right identifiers, we can recognize them as marketplace orders. What Hive provides for each marketplace is described below.
How do marketplace orders reach Hive?
There are three paths:
- Your Shop system — most marketplaces can sync their orders into your shop (e.g. Shopify) via a connector app. From there, orders flow to Hive like any other order. Common combinations:
- OrderDesk — for Amazon (FBM and Seller Fulfilled Prime). Hive is an official OrderDesk partner and covers the OrderDesk costs for you.
- Hive API — for shop systems or marketplaces without a connector app (available on Pro+ plans).
⚠️ Amazon orders must flow through one channel only — OrderDesk or Shopify Marketplace Connect, never both at once, as this creates duplicate orders.
What does Hive do for marketplace orders?
What Hive provides depends on the marketplace and how your setup is configured. Depending on the marketplace's requirements, Hive can:
- pack your orders in plain, unbranded packaging with no promotional inserts
- print and pack return labels and delivery notes inside the parcel — including marketplace-branded delivery notes where these exist (e.g. Douglas, Zalando)
- give identified marketplace orders priority when allocating available stock; Amazon orders are additionally prioritized daily in picking
- let you filter your orders by marketplace in the Hive App
Sending tracking numbers back to a marketplace is generally handled by your connector app, not by Hive. Where a marketplace requires additional data feeds (e.g. return tracking), Hive can in some cases provide the data via the Hive API or exports.
⚠️ Connecting a marketplace does not automatically mean your orders are prioritized. Marketplace orders are fulfilled with the same care as your other orders, but dedicated priority treatment in daily fulfillment currently applies to Amazon (FBM and SFP) orders only. If your marketplace has strict fulfillment SLAs, discuss them with Hive before going live.

Good to know before you start
- Your marketplace account health stays your responsibility — each marketplace's performance metrics are measured on your seller account.
- Carrier rules differ per marketplace. Some marketplaces (e.g. Zalando) mandate specific carriers; Amazon requires tracked services (letter products without tracking hurt your Valid Tracking Rate).
- Every marketplace + country combination needs its own setup — order identification, documents, and delivery configuration.
- Always place a test order before going live, so we can confirm your marketplace orders are recognized correctly from day one.
