To make sure that Hive follows specific requirements for your Amazon FBA orders, please make sure to select your requirements in the order instructions sections and, if needed, add any further information to the order notes.
From our experience with Amazon FBA orders, here are a couple of tips you can use to ensure that Amazon can inbound your orders succesfully:
- If single SKU parcels or pallets are a requirement for your Amazon FBA orders, please check the Parcel and pallet boxes under ‘Pack in single SKU’ in the order instructions section.
Please note that FBA labels must be downloaded from Amazon’s portal and added to the order in “thermal printing” format, which is:
- 1 label per page
- full page size
- vertical orientation
Without this format, the labels cannot be printed, and therefore the order cannot be scanned by Amazon, resulting in delays and maybe rejection.
We recommend placing FBA orders based on your master carton units, as this eliminates any back-and-forth communication after the order is packed and allows you to have your orders shipped faster. You can request information on the units, dimensions, and weight per box from your suppliers and cross-check that they comply with Amazon’s regulations.
If they comply, you can simply select multiples of the units/box in the Hive App as the order quantities, and Hive will by default ship in Master Cartons when they are available.
Example:
- 50 units per master carton
- You order 300 units
- There are 6 closed master cartons
- We use the 6 closed master cartons
- 50 units per master carton
- You order 300 units
- 4 master cartons are opened, and two are closed
- We use the two closed master cartons and use Hive Standard packaging for the remaining units
- 50 units per master carton
- You order 310 units
- We use 6 closed master cartons if available, and remaining 10 units in the best fitting Hive box
If you need to know how the order is packed before creating the FBA labels, please follow these steps:
- Check the boxes 'Parcel' and/or 'Pallet' under the labeling required in the order instructions section and don’t add any document categorized as parcel and/or pallet label respectively.
- Once the order is packed, there will be a ‘Parcel labels missing’ and/or ‘Pallet label(s) missing’ issue.
- Open the order on the Hive App, you will be able to see the dimensions of the order directly. There will be as many shipments in the order as boxes or pallets the order is packed in. Each shipment will have the corresponding pallet or parcel dimensions and weight.
- If your order is big enough to be packed on pallets, and you need to know how many boxes are placed in each pallet, please write ‘reach out to me once the order is packed to provide the information on number of boxes per pallet’ as this information will not be displayed on the Hive App.
We recommend saving the information about how each order was packed on Amazon’s portal, as then you can re-use these dimensions for future orders and provide the FBA labels directly.
Don’t forget to indicate the maximum weight and dimensions in the order instruction section.
If your supplier’s master cartons exceed these limitations, please check the box next to ‘Repack (do not use master cartons)’ in the order instructions section. Hive is not responsible for checking the dimensions of your master cartons.
If you also provide Amazon labels with shipping labels downloaded from Amazon’s portal, please check if the carrier you selected is a carrier in our delivery offering.
If it is, you do not need to place a pick-up on your own. As soon as your order is packed, we will hand the order over in our daily pick-ups.
If it is not, you need to organize a pick-up on your own. In this case, please specify the date of the pick-up directly in the order instructions.
When scheduling a pick-up, please make sure that it is compliant with the processing times for B2B orders. Information on when to organize a pick-up here.
- If you will provide shipping labels for every box, don’t forget to toggle ‘Ship only in parcels (do not palletize)’. Otherwise, if the order is packed in more than 10 boxes, it will be put on a pallet and the shipping labels won’t be used.
- If your order must be packed on a specific order or with specific packaging, you can add the following to the order notes:
- Box 1: SKU A - 30 units - master carton
- Box 2: SKU A - 25 units - box 600x400x300 mm
- Box 2: SKU B - 17 units - box 600x400x300 mm…
