A customs declaration/tax assessment or customs notice is a legal document provided by the customs authorities on which the import duties and import VAT of a designated shipment are determined.
The total amount of the customs and duties need to be paid by the customs declarant (or his representative) within a specified period indicated by the customs authorities. The document should be stored on the declarants’ records because it may be requested by the tax authorities when claiming the VAT.
