Inventory mapping: How to map Amazon shop products, OrderDesk inventory items, and Hive SKUs
For Hive to know what SKUs to fulfill from a shop/integration, mapping them to Hive SKUs is required. For more information about how to map shop products to Hive SKUs, please click here.
Given that Amazon is integrated via OrderDesk, Hive will use OrderDesk inventory items as a reference.
There are 2 ways to import/define your SKUs from Amazon in Hive:
- Map the SKUs as they come in with orders
- Inventory items will be imported into Hive with your orders. In Hive, all new orders with unmapped shop products/inventory items will land with an order issue: "categorization missing". You can categorize your inventory items by clicking on the banner "categorization missing" in the order with issues in the Hive App - Orders.
- To import all your SKUs in bulk, you can place a test order that includes all your Amazon Seller Central SKUs that you want fulfilled by Hive and categorize them all at once, and then cancel the order in the Hive App and in Amazon.
- Create your Amazon SKUs in OrderDesk and export the catalog in Hive
- You can upload your Amazon SKUs to OrderDesk one by one following this guide or upload them all in bulk using the Import Data template creator in OrderDesk. Once you have created all your inventory items in OrderDesk, you will need to export them into Hive using the Update Catalog button under OrderDesk - Integrations - Hive Technologies - Upload Catalog. Please click here to read more details about the Hive Technologies x OrderDesk integration.
If you require assistance with the above, don't hesitate to get in touch with Customer Support of Hive; we are always happy to help.
Inventory sync: Amazon, OrderDesk, and Hive
Inventory sync between Amazon and Hive is slightly more complex than with other integrations, due to having OrderDesk as an intermediary. The inventory sync will depend on your fulfillment setup with Amazon, Hive and other 3PLs.
Please follow this decision tree to know how to set up your Amazon inventory sync correctly:

- This is the simplest setup. All needed is:

- Find the Inventory Syncing setting and click on Enabled
- Go to Integrations - Amazon Marketplace EU

I will fulfill my orders partially with Hive and with another 3PL or myself, and I want only a fraction of my SKUs to receive inventory counts from Hive
-
- Please contact Hive's Customer Support team to find the best solution together! There are multiple setups that we can do:
- We can filter the incoming orders based on location, on specific SKUs, or we can block the inventory sync back to your shop on specific inventory items. Every setup has different implications for your Hive App view and order flow, therefore please ask and we will support you!

Inventory sync between Hive, OrderDesk and Amazon happens once per hour.
How does tracking information get transmitted to Amazon?
Tracking information from the shipments will be transmitted to OrderDesk as soon as the order is marked as "shipped" in Hive and includes a tracking link. This will also be transmitted immediately to Amazon.
